Students who are planning to study in Utrecht university, are expected to check the application procedures. For students applying for Bachelors degree programms, please note that It is no longer possible to apply for the 2018-2019 academic year. Application for the 2019-2020 academic year is possible from October onward.

Bachelors Degree (Application procedure)
It is no longer possible to apply for the 2018-2019 academic year. Application for the 2019-2020 academic year is possible from October onward. We advise you to apply as early as possible. Admission requirements, application deadlines and application procedure depend on the programme you choose. For detailed information see the webpages of the Bachelor’s programme of your choice.

Masters Degree (Application Procedure)

Admission Intakes
For most Master’s programmes you can apply at any time during the application period. However, because the number of places may be limited, we strongly recommend that you complete your application as early as possible. The sooner you complete your application, the sooner you will receive a decision on your admission.

How to apply

The five steps in the application process are:


1. Apply online for the programme of your choice via Studeilink.

2. You will receive an email with login details for OSIRIS Online Application, where you can upload the required documents. Here you will also be able to check the status of your application.

3. Pay the Application fee if applicable.

4. Once your application is complete, it will be processed and you will receive an admissions decision from the Graduate School. If you receive a (conditional) offer of a place, you must accept (or decline) this offer in OSIRIS Online Application.

5. If you receive an admissions offer, you will be asked to send in several certified documents. Download the instructions for applying to a Master’s programme with a non-Dutch degree for more information.

Certified copies
A certified copy is a photocopy of your original diploma or transcript, carrying an official stamp and signature (in original ink) from the university that issued the original document.

For international students
In the Netherlands there are two types of tuition fees, statutory tuition fees and institutional tuition fees.
Non-EU/EEA students (institutional tuition fee).

Costs of Studying and Living
If you are considering studying in Utrecht you will need to know what it costs to support yourself. During your stay in Utrecht you can expect to spend between €800 and €1,000 a month on living expenses. Tuition fees are not included in this amount. However, it depends on individual’s lifestyle.

AVERAGE LIVING EXPENSES
Accommodation (furnished, including utilities, individual/shared, etc.): 350 – 800 euro per month

Living expenses (food, clothes, personal services, public transport, etc.): 350 – 450 euro per month

Insurance (health, personal liability, etc.): 40 – 100 euro per month

Books / study material (depending on the degree programme you choose): 65 – 85 euro per month.
